Of all the places I have been riding around the world
and of all the types of riding I have experienced, I have never found a
better place or a better person to learn from.
Jacques knows how to get the best out of the horse in total harmony.
He is a highly skilled artist, the best classical dressage rider of the century.

Through deep blue eyes that do not miss any detail, this highly respected equestrian scholar will patiently teach you the "shoulder in" in the manner of an old master of the art : Monsieur de la Guérinière.
You wish to learn Passage, Piaffe, to canter on the spot or to learn some equestrian subtlety? All you need to do is to listen to him.
Master Jacques Papin, acclaimed writer, disciple and friend of the world famous equestrian legend Nuno Oliveira, with whom he shared precious moments, is the Equestrian Art Grand Master of the 21st century.
It is a great privilege to learn from him at Ecuries de l'Estuaire.
His unique teaching can take you through great improvements in only three days.
He will delicately teach you the secrets of his art for your utmost enjoyment.
Whether you are beginning or confirmed, he will kindly and simply show you the way.
Jacques will really make a difference to your riding and your talent will blossom under his guidance.
And there is Jean, the Master's son, a gifted rider. Jean Papin is an absolute gem. He is the smiling future of French Equitation.

I was lucky to meet Jacques Papin at the beginning of my equestrian carrier. I did not know then that my whole life was going to revolve around horses and I did not imagine that meeting him was going to influence my life as a rider for ever.
I was 14 years old.
Jacques Papin was already an instructor and was just out of Saumur. His whole teaching was based on the subtle relationship between the rider and his horse.
His knowledge and his constant quest for the horse's rectitude, his perfect use of the seat which gives his horses such fantastic collection, the whole of his equitation is based on a purity which he has always shared with us.
Jacques Papin is an amazing rider, one of the very few people with whom I like to discuss the training of my horses.

We have all, at some point in our lives, I hope, experienced moments of pure esthetical joy. This was one of those moments.
11pm: wrapped up in my coat, I am watching the empty indoor manege from the freezing balcony through dusty windows.
Jacques' classical music fills the arena.
He is riding Hulk. And the show begins. Little by little Ulk gives it all and Jacques, in total harmony, gets him perfectly collected, shoulders in, passes, pirouettes, flying changes, piaffe. All of the Haute Ecole figures are there before my eyes, what a magical moment. If you have the intelligence to accept and forget what you already know, if you have the modesty of the apprentice before his master, if you are passionate about equestrian art and are willing to learn, come and meet Jacques Papin, you will at last find pure joy.
